University of New Hampshire Global Student Success Program

Want to know what you are going to do when you arrive on campus? Here is what to expect.

Orientation overview

When you arrive, UNH GSSP requires all students to attend a short orientation program. This will help you prepare for your experience at the University. At orientation you will learn all you need to know about studying and living at UNH.

What happens at Orientation?

  • Tour the campus

  • Meet the GSSP staff

  • Get your course schedule/timetable

  • Get introduced to what the seacoast region has to offer

  • Purchase textbooks

  • Obtain your Student ID Card and activate UNH email

  • Meet new friends before starting your studies

  • Take English placement tests (undergraduate students who are not in GSSP Academic only)

You will also have opportunities to set up a U.S. bank account and purchase a cell phone.

What happens if I do not attend Orientation?

Orientation is mandatory for all students. Students are permitted to miss orientation ONLY if there are unpreventable circumstances. You MUST CONTACT UNH GSSP staff to receive instructions about late enrollments. Students who arrive late will have to make up the coursework for the classes they missed. UNH GSSP students are required to be in attendance before the start of the second week of classes. Please contact the Admissions Officer for more details.
