Campus Facilities

Campus life at UNH offers many choices to students. Opportunities to attend concerts, socials, and educational lectures are constantly available to students on the UNH campus.

Leadership opportunities

Students are also encouraged to participate in Project L.E.A.D., which is a series of leadership development initiatives run by the Student Center at UNH. The UNH GSSP also offers opportunities for the students to develop their leadership skills through becoming Orientation Leaders, Peer Academic Tutors, and Student Ambassadors. Students have many opportunities to develop leadership skills and put them to use.

Recreation and exercise options

The Hamel Recreation Center has all the resources to fulfil any fitness regime. The center includes 2 multi-purpose courts, a suspended running track, a fitness/weight center, racquetball courts, squash courts, basketball courts, a bouldering wall, aerobics room, saunas and more. If that isn't enough, UNH has a full-scale climbing wall and an indoor and outdoor lap pool. For students looking to get exercise outside, they can rent bikes, skis, ice skates and snow shoes on campus.

Student clubs

The University of New Hampshire has over 200 clubs and organizations. Some examples of these clubs include honors societies, a student-run radio station, cooking club and robotics club. There are clubs and organizations for any interest. If a student can't find the club they are looking for, the university has an easy process for starting new clubs on campus. Though UNH has 200 clubs; they are growing every year!

Friends and memories

The Memorial Union Building (MUB) is truly the heart of campus. The student center has a food court, movie theaters, a gaming room, pool hall, computer stations and plenty of comfortable couches for studying or lounging around with friends. Also, all of the clubs on campus have spaces in the MUB, so it is always a popular spot for students to meet up with their friends.

Durham is a nice university town with restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores all within walking distance from campus. UNH is also 15 minutes away from the city of Portsmouth which has the most restaurants per capita in the US. Portsmouth is right on the coast and has wonderful boutique shopping and a thriving arts community.
